This Pork Loin with Brown Sugar and Balsamic Glaze Recipe is easy and delicious. Best of all, it’s made in a crockpot, so you can get it cooking first thing in the morning and go about the rest of your day, then come home to a mouthwatering meal where the pork is so tender it falls apart…and the brown sugar and balsamic glaze make it both sweet and savory. It is definitely a winning recipe. One, I’m sure you’ll make again and again. Here’s what you’ll need:
Pork Loin with Brown Sugar and Balsamic Glaze
pork loin (approx. 3 lbs.)
1/4 to 1/2 an onion, coarsely chopped
salt & pepper to taste
3-4 fresh garlic cloves
1/2 cup water
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
2 Tbsp. soy sauce
1 Tbsp. corn starch
Turn on crockpot/slow cooker and set on Low. Place chopped onion in crockpot. Rinse off pork loin with water and pat dry using paper towels. Season with salt and pepper and quickly brown on all sides over stove in lightly greased frying pan. Place pork loin, fat side up, on top of onion in crockpot. Add 1/2 cup water. Place garlic cloves on top of pork. Cover and let cook for 6 hours.
In the final hour of cooking, prepare glaze. Combine brown sugar, balsamic vinegar, soy sauce, and corn starch in small sauce pan and cook over stove approx. 5 minutes until glaze is thickened. (Note, glaze is really delicious, so you may want to double the amount to have extra when serving.)
Turn pork over inside crockpot and pour half of the glaze on top. Set aside the rest of the glaze. Let pork continue cooking until done.
When pork meat falls apart easily, serve it with the remaining glaze on top. You can also place it in an oven safe dish and put it in the oven to broil for a few minutes so the top gets a little crispy. This pork loin is delicious! And, if you’re lucky, you’ll have some leftover. Just refrigerate and make some killer sandwiches or burritos the next day!
