The basic slow cooker recipe is to take a boneless roast, place it in a slow cooker, add on top the dry Hidden Valley Ranch dressing and the Au Jus Gravy mix package. Place a stick of butter on top of that, and add in the sides some peppers. You can add in carrots or potatoes if you like. Set the heat to low and let it cook 5-7 hours, it depends on how powerful your slow cooker is. Its easy to overcook this, so pay attention. You might also use less than a pack of the ranch dressing, as with a small roast it can taste a little salty.
