Slow Cooked Black Pepper Roast Beef and Gravy Recipe
INGREDIENTS:
3-4 pd. beef chuck roast
1-2 Tbsp. fresh cracked black peppercorns
kosher salt
1 pkg. onion soup mix
1 1/2 cups beef broth
1/2 cup red wine
5 stalks chopped celery
5 medium chopped carrots
*Cook on low in a slow cooker for 8 hrs.
Gravy:
4 Tbsp. butter
4 Tbsp. flour
2 – 2 1/2 cups beef broth (I strained)
1+ tsp. Gravy Bouquet
salt and black pepper to taste
In a pan on medium heat add butter and melt.
Add flour, whisk and cook for 1 minute.
Slowly add beef broth and whisk until smooth.
Season to taste. Add Gravy Bouquet. Stir.
Bring to light simmer.
Cook for 5-10 minutes or until thickened.
Remove from heat.
